what others have to say:My experiences at VCAM started many years ago in Williston when I was invited to appear as a guest on the Church Street Marketplace live telecast. The hour-long program went by so fast, I said to myself afterward, 'hey, why don't we do this?' Eight-plus years later, the VSO continues taping 6-8 episodes annually, and I am constantly hearing from folks who tuned in and caught a show. Cable access television is marketing at the grass-roots level, and it's so 'Vermont,' reaching the most remote viewers and sharing the good news and excitement about the Vermont Symphony Orchestra in a way that only television can convey.

It's a fantastic opportunity and reward for a public citizen to be able to walk in to the studio and, after two or three hours of familiarization and instruction, to transfer one's own thoughts onto tape or disc, for casting abroad - to approval or criticism. Unrestricted Public Access Television is something to be treasured; to be nurtured and strengthened at every opportunity. Ed Everts- Peace & Justice Review
At the start of every season at Vermont Stage Company, I know I can count on
an interview with Kay Ryder on her program "Conversations with Kay." It's a
great way for us to get the word out about our upcoming productions, and
it's always a pleasure to talk with Kay, as she always comes to the
interview well prepared, informed, curious, and ready to offer interesting
insights into what we do. It's an excellent community service and I'm happy
Vermont Stage has had the good fortune to take part in it. Mark Nash-Vermont Stage Company
In my 12 years of doing HowardCenter's interview show Unsung Heroes, I've been most grateful for the professionalism of the VCAM staff. Our interview show at VCAM is a wonderful format for celebrating the people who work for HowardCenter and the people we serve. It also has been an excellent way to inform the greater community about the work that we do. VCAM completely understands the importance of this, and their support has been invaluable. The folks who work at VCAM are incredibly kind, helpful, and generous with their
time. They've been able to accomodate both schedule crunches and my lack
of technical acuity with ease and grace. Plus, the facilities are fantastic. I'm
extremely grateful to have VCAM as a community resource.Kathryn Blume- Independent Artist
During the first week in a new position at the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, I was told that I would be the new producer of our cable access television show, On Stage, produced using the facilities at VCAM. Having no previous knowledge of Macs or Final Cut Pro (video editing software), Bill Simmon dubbed my first experiences in the edit room as a "baptism by fire." Since then, with enormous amounts of help from the ever-friendly and helpful VCAM staff, I have whittled my production time from eight (sometimes ten) hours to about four hours per episode. The services and opportunities provided at VCAM not only enhance our marketing coverage and exposure across the state (for free!), but have also exposed me to valuable skills that I will continue to use in my professional and personal life.
